This interactive lecture shares how a major sporting event runs as a business. Real-world examples of finance, annual operations and sustainability considerations give an insight into the inner workings of Wimbledon. Students will have the opportunity to think critically about how their unique perspective could help Wimbledon improve its operations while staying true to its history.
Session length: 4 hours, including lesson, tour, packed lunch break and Museum visit.
Session timings: 10:00-14:00
Leader requirements: 1 chaperone for every 10 pupils. Leaders/chaperones are required to stay with the group for the entirety of the visit.
Minimum numbers: 15 pupils
Maximum numbers: 70 pupils, split into 2 groups of 35 pupils.
