From wooden racket and cat gut strings to carbon fibre frames and AI-powered analytics, tennis has always been shaped by technology. At Wimbledon that innovation is involved in every part of operations, both on and off the court. Students will explore how digital systems support the year-round functions and The Championships from booking courts and managing retail to score matches and running a major sporting event. Through hands-on activities, they'll uncover the hardware, software and human expertise that keep Wimbledon running smoothly 52 weeks of the year and have the chance to propose their own tech-driven improvements.
Session length: 4 hours, including lesson, tour, packed lunch break and Museum visit.
Session timings: 10:00-14:00
Leader requirements: 1 chaperone per group. Leaders/chaperones are required to stay with the group for the entirety of the visit.
